CPL Prepaid Electricity Payment Options
With CPL Prepaid, you have several easy and convenient payment options. You'll get reminders by text or email about your latest account balance. This will alert you to when you should make a payment.
Use your Payment Number when you make any type of payment.
We will provide you with your Payment Number via text/email upon enrollment, and a Membership Card with this number will be mailed to you within 7-10 days. Using this Payment Number will ensure your account is credited.

If you have enrolled in CPL Prepaid TODAY: As we process your enrollment, it may take up to 8 hours for your Payment Number to be recognized in the system. If you are having trouble accessing the online payment system, please try again at a later time, or locate your nearest pay station to make a cash payment.
CPL Prepaid is Available in the Following Texas Cities
To use CPL Prepaid, you must have a provisioned smart meter (also known as an Advanced Meter), and an activated SMS text capable phone or an active email address to receive your daily electricity usage communications. Additionally, you cannot be a Critical or Chronic Care patient.
